The unfinished basement of this Ravenna craftsman-style home needed a necessary upgrade for extra space and to flow with the rest of the house. Originally used for storage and laundry, our clients asked for an office space, a third bathroom, laundry, and a family TV area. The first challenge included the absence of a bathroom and the basement’s unfinished floor. Key aspects of the renovation included leveling the space by digging down, installing a ¾ bath which included square subway tile in the shower, fun contrasting hexagon tile flooring, and refurbished antique sink. Our clients needed an office space for remote work, so we added an office room with tons of storage and with trim selections matching throughout the home for cohesiveness. We also added some barn doors for when the room is not in use, they can open for some natural light! On the second floor, we added two bedrooms and an additional bath. We couldn’t be happier with this project as it not only met our client’s needs as a family but fit seamlessly with the rest of the historic home.
